This weekend was exactly what our family needed. No plans. Just us and whatever we felt like doing. For the first time in months, we decided to tackle a few home renovation projects. I can’t wait to show you guys the before and after. It’s been a while since we’ve done a DIY on here, so hopefully we’ll put something together really soon. Besides that, we took the mornings slow together as a family, visiting our favorite local bagel shop and spending some time by the kiddie pool. I’m a little upset that June is already almost over. This summer has been a blast so far and it’s going by way too fast.

I am going to let you guys in on a little secret. When I got pregnant with Cove, I was super paranoid about stretch marks. I knew if I got them, I would live and always remember the beautiful fact I got to carry my child, but I also just really didn’t want to have to deal with them or that adjustment. A friend from work told me about a product she used with all of her babies and that she never got a single stretch mark, even though her mom had them and its usually genetic. Well, I bought it immediately and started using it twice a day and did not get a single stretch mark. I honestly believe it has to be some kind of liquid gold. You can find it here.

That was what first sold me on Mustela. Soon after having Cove, we realized he had super sensitive skin. We had to throw away all the really great smell-good products because he was getting rashes and little eczema marks on the back of his arms and under his knees. It would break my heart to see him scratch and how red they would get. My other momma friend (thank God for the tribe He’s given me), shared with me that her son had a similar problem and so she started using Mustela products with him. I have to tell you, I am so impressed with how great they have been. They just came out with a new line which uses a natural biomimetic active ingredient found in avocados, called Avocado Perseose, to help with the aid of development of your little ones skin barrier. I had always heard you should put lotion on your baby’s skin every night, but I didn’t realize that it was to help protect it as that skin barrier develops. That’s why it’s so important to not use certain products like deet and other chemicals on your child when they are young. Their skin barrier has not fully developed yet and can’t protect them from those harsh chemicals. Anyways… we love their products. I’m sharing a few of our favorites down below.
