Colorful Meals | Mixed Berry Salad and Fresh Shrimp and Steak Skewers

This post was sponsored by Fresh From Florida as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central, however all opinions expressed are my own.  Dinner time in the kitchen is my jam. (I really can’t believe I just said “jam”… I guess I’m proving that I am a nineties baby…) It’s that time of the day I get to work on something delicious to feed my boys so we can share a meal together. Since we have had Cove, I really appreciate a home-cooked meal with them. I used to love eating out, but I’ve become so much more of an “at-home” eater. It’s helped us become healthier and it creates a time of the day where we have cut-out conversation and family time. In case you missed it, I shared here how I meal plan for our week and here how I shop for fresh produce. When I go shopping, I’m really conscious of where I’m buying my produce from and whether it’s local and in season. There is something to be said for eating foods that were grown close…

Cove’s First Birthday | Modern Geo Jungle Party

When it came time for us to start thinking about a theme for Cove’s first birthday, I knew I wanted it to be from something we experienced together as a family during his first year of life. We were able to take Cove to both the Atlanta Zoo and the San Diego Zoo this year and he loved it. Since we had such great memories there together as a family, I decided to do a modern jungle theme. We have always used #gocove since before he was born, so we played on that to theme the party GO COVE, GO WILD. We tied together modern and geometric patterns with African Mudcloth to build out the branding and design. I designed the logo and invites, and then had them printed. We also crafted handmade wooden geometric photo frames to hold the Polaroid’s that we had people take at the party as party favors. Then we added jungle greenery and tiny zoo animals to pull it all together.

What U Luv | Luvs Diaper Picnic

We love meeting our friends at the park for play dates. Vitamin D and good people always make the day brighter. Last week, we partnered with Luvs to host a picnic party with a few of our friends to celebrate the launch of Ultra Leakguards with Nightlock Plus Diapers. We had a great time with all our little boys munching on our favorite foods, playing with balloons, swinging and talking about our favorite things. Between the four of us, we have five boys and another one on the way. It’s so nice to have some moms in your corner, to laugh and cry about the joys of motherhood and even share diapers when things get messy. There is seriously no time for leaky diapers as a mom. Luvs has found a great solution to help keep diapers secure on your baby so it makes leaks a thing of the past. I am also a huge fan of how soft they are. I have tried a lot of different diaper brands and types where the diapers were so hard and scratchy, but Luvs have this cotton-like…

A Boho Couple’s Baby Shower

Our best friends are having a baby this September! We could hardly wait to spoil them and love on them. The gender is a surprise to both them and everyone else, so we wanted to do something gender neutral with colors besides yellow and white. We decided to use a turquoise and blue scheme since boys and girls can wear blue.

Couples Baby Shower For Sawyer Tate

This weekend we celebrated our good friends and their baby boy who is arriving this June! Although the rain pushed our garden party inside, we had a great time. Instead of opening gifts, we asked everyone to bring an unwrapped gift to display with a signed book instead of a card, which gave us more time to celebrate the couple of honor. We are so thrilled to meet Sawyer Tate soon. We love him already.

Dinner Party | Ian’s 26th Birthday

This Christmas, instead of throwing a Christmas party, we decided to throw a dinner party to celebrate Ian’s birthday. I loved spoiling him and making all of his favorite dishes. Since it is pretty chilly outside here in Georgia, we had to morph the inside of our house to a gigantic dining room. It was interesting to say the least… Our menu consisted of mixed green salad, roasted brussel sprouts, creamy mac and cheese, roasted rosemary garlic potatoes and chicken piccata. We also did an appetizer bar in the dining room. For favors, we decided we wanted to send everyone home with mini trees so that they could plant a Christmas tree at their home. Happy Birthday to the man who still makes my heart skip a beat. Who loves steak, gadgets, Apple, Lord of the Rings, the smell of wood, and burning things like a true manly man. A man who tops prince charming in romantic gestures. And who loves and serves Jesus in a way that encourages me daily. I love you, babe! Thank you to all the friends who…

Celebrating a Sweet Baby Peach

This past Sunday, I had the honor of co-hosting a baby shower for my sweet friend Erin. God has blessed her with a beautiful baby girl, Sylvie Charlotte, that will be here very soon. We decided on a peach and teal theme, which are also the colors of Erin’s nursery. The look was southern charm which perfectly describes Erin. Here are some of the pictures from the afternoon. I cannot wait for the sweet peach to arrive!

Wedding Dress Tea Party

I am so excited to share this post today! My friends and I all get a little giddy when we start talking about throwing a good party with an even better theme. We have so much fun planning, dressing up, and celebrating anything we can come up with. My good friend Lily, who you can check out here, decided to throw a wedding dress tea party because “who says you can only wear it once?!” So we all pulled those big gowns out of the closest and reminisced on those special days we all experienced. Our pregnant friends even got in on the action, which was so much fun! We each shared our best and worst memories from that special day while eating quiche, cucumber sandwiches, muffins, and fresh berries. Lily did a wonderful job of transforming her house into a perfect tea party and I wanted to share some of the fun we had.   Hope you enjoyed! XO Victoria

Cornhole – DIY

This project was a lot of fun. Victoria and I have been wanting a cornhole set for a little while now and the Bohemian Party we had was the motivation I needed to get it done. Below are the steps Jimmy and I took to build the set. Hope you enjoy! STEP 1: Sketch out the Set Below is a diagram with general dimensions we used. Image pulled from another cornhole DIY located at the bottom of the post. I start a project by sketching out exactly what I want to do. You don’t have to do this, but it helps me think through what I want. STEP 2 – Cut the Top Boards & Glue Together You need 32′ total of the 1×6 boards to make 2 boards, so we purchased four 8′ boards and had the guy at Home Depot cut them in half to make four 4′ boards for each cornhole board. It’s free and they’ll cut almost anything. After they were cut, we glued 4 of the 4′ boards together to create a thick bond. This is where you should use clamps…

Bohemian Birthday Bash

Three of our close friends had birthdays recently. Two of them were turning a quarter of a century and the other 26, so we decided to celebrate them all together with a big birthday bash. The weather has been incredible lately, so we decided to have the party in our backyard with plenty of room for outdoor games. We wanted it to be low-key, but still have an eclectic feel. I asked Ian to build a large farmhouse table that would be low to the ground, so that we could all sit on the grass around it. He built the top out of old weathered wood we already had and then we used cinderblocks for the bases. We then scattered random blankets, pillows and fabric around to give it that eclectic style. We also stacked wood pallets to make smaller tables. Since everything was outdoors and at night, we wanted to make sure there was plenty of soft lighting. Ian put 8′ stakes in the ground and attached strands of lights, which you can find here, to the tops around nails he hammered…

Merry & Bright – The perfect holiday party booth

Every year since we have been married, Ian and I have enjoyed hosting a small Christmas party at our house. We usually require for everyone to dress up some how and this year we thought we would bring back the Tacky Christmas Sweaters. Since we don’t do a white elephant or ornament exchange we create a small area upstairs to do a photo booth. In the two years we’ve done it, it has not failed to bring lots of laughs and holiday cheer out of everyone. This year. We took two hideously awesome green chairs from the Goodwill as our seating. Since we didn’t want to spend a lot of money, we bought rolls of brown packaging paper from the Dollar Store and hung it in strips all across the back wall. Ian hung old vintage lights from my Grandma’s Christmas tree across the paper and we had the perfect vintage set up. The props were all random items we either had in our house or things we borrowed from my mother-in-laws drama prop closet. We also added a Shake…
