New York City

New York City is truly a magical place to visit. There is nothing else like it. I was given the privilege to attend the Click Z Live Marketing Conference for work, and Ian got to tag along. We ended up extending our stay a few extra days to make it a mini vacation. Below are some photos and the things we did on the trip.     One of my favorite memories on the trip will be going to get macaroons one night from the Macaron Cafe. As we were leaving, I told Ian I felt like Blair Waldorf from…

Style Trunk | Jersey Jumpsuit

JUMPSUIT SIMILAR HERE, HERE, and HERE // SHOES TARGET // GLASSES AMAZON // NECKLACE JAMES MICHELLE I had been on the lookout for the perfect casual jumpsuit. When I was in Chattanooga a few weeks ago, my friend picked up this gem from a clearance rack at a boutique. Not only is it like wearing pajamas in public, it also has the added benefit of not having to match your bottom to your top when you are picking out your outfit. XOXO Victoria

Who’s the fairest of them all? – The Battle of Comparison

We’ve all been there. You sit staring at screens all day and the weight of everyone’s awesome trips, award winning career, perfect marriage and spotless house is too much to handle. You immediately pull out your measuring stick and begin evaluating your own worth, or at least what you think it is. And when things don’t add up, you cast judgement or spiral into a pity party with no fancy Pinterest cake or blog worthy decorations. I know, it’s heavy, and while you may not battle with it, the majority of the population does. We hide our insecurities behind our…

Sweet Sentiments

Grandmother’s Gifts If you know me, you know that I am a pretty sentimental person. There is so much to treasure in life. Some new additions were added to my kitchen recently. My grandmother has been going through her treasures and decided to give my sister and I a few things that she’s collected over the years. This included old tin canisters, a wooden rolling pin and old canning jars. I love each of them so much because there’s so many memories attached to each item. I decided to frame one of my favorite recipes she gave me when I…

Tapestry: Ladies Retreat | Chattanooga, Tennessee

I had the opportunity to be a part of my church’s ladies retreat this year. We hosted the event in Chattanooga, TN, and our theme for the weekend was Tapestry, with an emphasis on Ephesians 4:1-3: “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” The weekend was a great reminder of how we as women are like different chords being woven together to create a greater…

Italy Part IV – Rome

And so it comes. Today is the last post as we wrap up our Italy adventures in Rome. Although we were exhausted, Rome was incredible. I loved all of the history and the beauty in the architecture. There was so much to soak in, in such a short time. Being able to see and stand on the ancient grounds and ruins was humbling. We enjoyed some of the best food of our trip here as well as some of the best memories.

Italy Part III – Florence

Florence was our favorite city that we visited in Italy. The city has tons of markets, leather shops, and tiny bistros with the most delicious desserts and gelato. I could have spent weeks exploring the city. Our first day, we went to the Duomo early in the morning and climbed to the very top. The view was unlike anything I had ever seen before. You could see all of Florence and Tuscany. We reached the top just as the sun was rising and it made for one of my favorite memories of our entire trip through Italy. Get there early,…

Sprucing Up For Easter

Easter is one of the best times of the year! Winter starts to fade away, your plants start to bloom, and there are bunnies and lambs in every department store. It brings me so much joy. I don’t decorate too much, but I do love to spruce up the house with some springy accents.   I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Italy Part II – Venice

When planning our trip, I knew that Venice was somewhere we had to visit. Many people had said there wasn’t a lot to do there, but I knew it was something I needed to see. And I was so right. After a long train ride from Milan, Ian and I struggled as we got off the train with our rolling luggage (if you read our Italy Travel Guide post, this is where the nightmare of rolling luggage started,) and walked through the dark train station. We followed the crowd of people down several steps and into the sun… and this…

Andrew Belle – The Vinyl, Atlanta

Last week, Ian and I went with our friends Jimmy and Jen to see one of my favorite artists at The Vinyl in Atlanta. I’ve been listening to Andrew Belle a little over a year now, and still can’t stop. This tour, accompanied by Diane Birch, was a stripped down version of his Black Bear record. The Black Bear album depicts raw and beautiful truth. After growing up in a Christian home and going to church, Belle began searching for answers on his own. He then learned something about himself. He didn’t choose God, God chose him. And that is what…

Italy Part I – Germany, Switzerland, and Milan

This week we are following up our Italy Travel Guide with the first part of our trip to Germany, Switzerland, and Milan. We started our trip with an eight hour flight to Germany. Once we landed, we took a train from Germany through Switzerland and arrived in Milan that night. The train ride was actually really fun. We stared out the windows the entire time in awe of the Black Forrest (where Ian’s ancestry is from,) Swiss Alps, and all the small villages in between. From the photos below, you can tell we were a little tired by the time we got…

When Your Milestones Leave You Unsatisfied

I spent a lot of my time as a young girl waiting and trying hard to get to the real world. People would always say, “When you get into the real world…” And though I am blaming no one but myself, I had this idea that if I could only get to the “real world” my life would start. I don’t believe I am the only person with this idea though. I think that many of us have jumped from milestone to milestone and thought, “Is this it? Is this what it’s suppose to feel like?” It’s not that you…

Italy Travel Guide

It has been a dream of mine since I was in middle school to take a trip to Italy. I could never put my finger on why I loved it so much, but between the food, the history and the views, I knew it had to be wonderful. My husband knew about this dream, so when I graduated college and started working full time, he told me that we would always find a reason not to go or put it off, so lets do it now. And we did! We started planning in December for a travel date in May.  Even…

Trunk Show: Bizzy’s Boutique + Giveaway!

I sat across from Elizabeth at the coffee shop, and couldn’t help but feel her radiating joy. She has so much love for everyone she comes in contact with, making her beautiful inside and out. Not to mention she is incredibly talented. I have lived in my Bizzy’s Boutique headband for the past month. It is the perfect accessory for any outfit and works great with my messy bed head on the weekends. Plus her matching Mother-Baby headbands are enough to make anyone have baby fever. We’re excited to announce with this month’s Trunk Show, there is a special giveaway…

Our Love Story

If you don’t like sappy posts, I wouldn’t scroll any further… It is hard to share our love story without sharing how we first met. Circa 2006, Ian was playing in a christian rock band that would often come and play at my school for chapel. I remember sitting in the bleachers in the gym auditorium watching them play. My friends were all drooling over the lead singer and guitarist, while I was too focused on how cute the drummer was, shaggy hair and all. I loved how he sang with every song, and was so passionate about his music.…

Scott + Lily

Meet Scott & Lily. Lily is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met because her kindness radiates in everything she does. Over the years, they have been some of our best friends, so needless to say, shooting them was a lot of fun. We love getting to meet and talk with people about shooting their pictures. It gives us a chance to learn who they are, the things they like and what experiences have made them they people they are today. This helps us set up their sessions and get a better idea of how to capture…
