I’m writing this just after getting home from the store to buy drawer organizers. When I tell you the nesting bug has hit HARDCORE, I mean it. Ha.
I’ve had the sweetest little helper too. Cove has been so interested in helping me with laundry, cooking, and housework. It honestly takes like three times as long to do, or I end up having to go back and re-do a lot of it, but it has been sweet memories and time with him that I am soaking up. It’s also made me highly aware of what we are using to clean our house.
Cove has had sensitive skin since he was born, and beyond that, I have worked to educate myself on what kinds of products we allow into our home, use on our skin, bodies and throughout there air.
As I started doing laundry for the baby, I wanted to make sure even if he didn’t have sensitive skin, we were using products that wouldn’t cause him harm, especially steering clear from things like dryer sheets and fabric softeners.
Buckaroo Organics was so kind to send us a package filled with their amazing laundry detergent, wool dryer balls, essential oils, and balms. They use soapberries/soap nuts, which are hypoallergenic and free from all chemicals. You can read more about it here.
If you haven’t been using wool dryer balls, they are a better alternative to dryer sheets. They help make sure your clothes get completely dry and when you use essential oils on them, they create such an amazing and natural aroma. We’ve been using them for over a year now, and really don’t know how we did without them for so long.
We put about 5-10 drops of various oils on the balls and throw them in the dryer with the clothes. You can also use oils with your laundry soap to add a fresh smell. Tea tree oil does a great job of killing bacteria and other fungi, while creating a natural, earthy smell, and Lavender or Lemon are always my favorites as far as natural scents go. You can shop all of their products here.
As a bonus, because I truly use and love the products, I partnered with Buckaroo Organics to give one of you lucky readers a Laundry Starter Kit, with the 20-load bag of detergent, the 6-pack of Wool Dryer Balls, an essential oil, and a customized Buckaroo tote.
