For the last half of our stay in San Diego, we decided to spend it at the San Diego Zoo and exploring the beaches nearby. We were so excited to take the boys to the zoo. The San Diego Zoo was also celebrating 100 years and was rated the best zoo in America. I was so impressed with it. We saw a grizzly bear fight, elephants up close & personal and the boys were in love with the polar bear that played in front of them. If you haven’t been and you are in the area, I highly recommend it, even if you don’t have kids. It’s just a really cool place to experience and its right next to Balboa Park, which was our other favorite. There are so many great beaches in San Diego too. We stayed right at Windansea Beach, but Pacific Beach, La Jolla Cove and Torrey Pines are all beautiful and super close by.
One of our favorite places in San Diego is Scripps Pier. We actually have a picture of it hanging in Cove’s nursery. We started our trip there last time, and we ended the San Diego portion of our trip there this time. It’s such a beautiful beach, and I was so excited to take Cove to see it. The food in San Diego was amazing too. I am a huge taco lover as you all know, and San Diego has their fair share of delicious taco stands and fish eateries. I will try to put together a list in our travel guide post to share with you all.
You can see the first half of our stay in San Diego here. I can’t wait to tell you all about our time in Dana Point and Laguna Beach, so stay tuned.
