Real Life Moments – How We Capture Them and What We Keep for Ourselves

“Instagram has always been a creative outlet for me, and I have personally chosen not to share much of the every day lives of our children for their sake. However, as I continue to share style and design images, remember that this space for me is only meant to inspire an idea. Encourage, and uplift. The best moments of my life are actually the insignificant ones… Usually with a baby or two at my ankles while I’m sipping a coffee. I just choose to keep them just for me most of the time. So this is just a reminder for…

San Diego Guys Trip

Some of my favorite trips are the last minute, spontaneous ones because we have to buckle down and get all the logistics planned quickly, then we’re off while still on the high / excitement of planning the trip. Now I love planned trips too (we typically have two trips a year that are planned months out), but there’s just something about jumping on a plane a few days later and throwing yourself into the flow of whatever happens, happens. It was just Jimmy and I for this trip though. You’ve seen him, Jen and their little guy on this blog…

Return Ticket

“We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.” Our family takes a lot of pictures. Not because we like seeing ourselves plastered all over the place, but because pictures are memories for me. I have never really journaled until more recently, and in a lot of ways, I think it was because photos were a journal for me. I could look at a photo and tell you exactly how I was feeling or what I was going through or experiencing at that exact moment. I find myself frequently going through old photos, reminiscing about those memories…

The Genslers

When Megan asked us to take their family’s holiday photos at their home, I was so excited. They had just recently moved in their beautiful new house and we were so looking forward to capturing images there. Britton (who might I say is the cutest little prince charming you’ve ever seen) will be a year old this January. He loved the camera and was so much fun to follow around. Jordan and Megan are such a beautiful couple and you can see how much they love their little guy!

The Richardsons

You can’t quite get more photogenic than this family! They could have all walked out of some ad in a magazine. We were so honored to take their photos and the weather was absolutely perfect for this Red Top Mountain shoot. As you can see from the photos, we all had a blast playing around and capturing images.

The Edwards

We just absolutely love this family and have really enjoyed seeing their family grow over the past year. Sawyer was born this summer and he is just a doll. He is so relaxed and has the sweetest grins and growls when he is flirting. After a week of rain, it was incredibly sunny the morning we went to take their photos (oh, and really really cold). We actually went to the same spot that Scott and Lily took their engagement photos four years ago, so it was a special place for their family. I hope you enjoy the images from this beautiful…

Pumpkin Patch | 31 Weeks

There is so much to love about fall. It’s Ian’s favorite time of year. He turns into the happiest guy around when he gets to wear flannel, make fires and eat chili. He has no complaints when it comes to trampling around at a pumpkin patch to take photos with our friends, and I absolutely love him for it. It is such a fun season for us, not just because it’s fall, but because we get to become parents with some of our best friends. I have so many sweet friends that are raising babies along side me, and it…

Matt + Jenna

Matt surprised Jenna with a photo session this weekend, and we were honored to be a part! He picked out her outfit and took her to a beautiful spot in Woodstock after taking her shopping. It was the sweetest! They are an incredibly attractive couple which makes it so easy to shoot. The lighting was so dreamy and just highlighted their love for each other. What was even better was the fact that we ended the night with queso, tacos and patio time downtown with the most perfect weather.

Jimmy + Jen | Maternity Shoot

It’s pretty much the best thing in the world when your best friends are pregnant the same year as you. I text Jen at least once a week with some sort of question about pregnancy, “is this normal,” or just something about babies. I LOVE it. I feel like their child is already my family. And, in a matter of days I will get to meet their sweet baby for the first time. We are rooting for a boy, but if not, Cove will already have a little soulmate:) These pictures are some of my favorite of Jimmy and Jen,…

The Cook Family

When Rachel asked us to shoot her family this fall, I was so thrilled. We have known Rachel and Klay for about 4 years now and love their family. Karter, their son, is one handsome little man. You can see how much Rachel and Klay adore Karter in these photos. I love seeing his personality shine through as he plays in an area they visit frequently. It was a perfect afternoon for a shoot. The leaves were perfect shades of fall and the sky was clear and blue.

Industrial Shoot | The Cooper Firm Office

The Cooper Firm, where I work, recently moved into a new office building in Marietta and we had the opportunity to shoot the refinished space a couple weeks ago. Ian was in office heaven. The building used to be home to an old hosiery mill, The Brumby Chair Factory, and Cooper decided last year to buy it and completely refurbish everything. No detail was spared and the end result is a beautiful and rustic office complex. The interior of the building was designed by Dana Poor from Boxtree Designs and Cooper Jones Contracting. I love the atmosphere and the industrial feel the building has.…

Nathan + Elizabeth | The Proposal

When Nathan first contacted us about his plans to propose to Elizabeth, we were thrilled and honored that we were asked to be a part of the evening. Nathan started out by taking Elizabeth to the place they went on their first date. After dinner, Nathan told her they were going to see about a black lab at Piedmont Park. He even programmed Ian’s name as “Ian Dog Guy” in his phone, so he could text us updates on where they were throughout the evening. It was ingenious. I loved being able to watch the love between the both of them…
