Step Into Spring

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is doing well! We’ve been soaking up spring ever since it started. This past weekend we visited friends in Chattanooga and it honestly felt like summer. We walked around the downtown art district and across the walking bridge, which Cove absolutely loved. I’m a huge fan our how Chattanooga is an active and walking city. So many people were out walking, riding bikes and playing in Coolidge Park. We will definitely be back soon to take Cove to the aquarium. Although spring means lots of pastels and cool colors, I still love wearing neutral and my go-to black and white. I love this fun and flowy top from PinkBlush. They have some amazing spring tops and dresses. The white floral pattern still makes it springy and light. I dressed it down a little with some distressed jeans and paired it with these lace-up flats from Guilty Soles. What kind of plans do you have for spring? I would love to hear what kind of spring traditions you have.

Lavender Love | Giveaway

I’m so over the moon it’s spring. I’m even more excited to experience it all with Cove this year. Easter, planting in the yard, strawberry picking and all the other fun things that come with spring time. This past week we were outside pretty much every day, all day. I started clearing out our flower beds and planted a few rose bushes, along with some other plants, to fill it up before we mulched. This year, my mom bought me another lavender bush to go with the the smaller one I bought from Pikes. I’m slightly obsessed with lavender… We use the lavender essential oil in our house daily and now that I have the fresh stuff everywhere in our garden, we’ll be spreading that around too. I fell in love with this flowy top from PinkBlush when I saw it. The delicate details and lavender color were perfect for spring. PinkBlush has some amazing new items for this season. I picked up this top, a long sleeveless tunic, and another dress I’ll be sharing with you guys very soon for Easter. You may…

Thoughts On Things: Callaway Gardens, Blooming Where You’re Planted & Things I’m Loving Right Now

This past weekend was full of really fun activities which left me inspired and rejuvenated. I kicked off the weekend with two really fun events, one hosted by The Honest Co. / Bump Club and another by Little Black Dress Little Red Wagon. Then I capped off the weekend with a Ladies Retreat, hosted by my church at Callaway Gardens. I hadn’t been to Callaway since I was a little girl and when I got there, I quickly fell in love all over again. It was such a beautiful place full of butterfly gardens, sweet tucked away paths with flowers and just an overall peaceful place. After spending the weekend there I can’t wait to take the boys back for a family getaway. They recently renovated the Lodge and Spa we were staying at, and it was really dreamy. I’d recommend staying there if you are planning on making a trip. This quote from Lisa Chan is taped to my Bible right now. which is timely for spring and my weekend at the gardens. “One day as we were driving back from one of…

All Day Kiss Proof and Thoughts From The Heart

Its not quite warm enough to pull out my shorts yet, but I have pulled out all my spring tops and floral pieces. I figured if my backyard is blooming, it’s acceptable. With the weather being chilly in the mornings but warming up in the day, my favorite trend is to wear a lighter peasant top and throw an oversized cardigan over it for when the temps are lower. I fell in love with this adorable key hole top, which is lightweight and has the perfect colored pattern, paired with these super comfy suede booties from Guilty Soles. Im sure you’re all wondering about the title of this post. Well, do you see that really pretty beige/pink lipstick that I am wearing? It stays on my lips all day, doesn’t come off on my cups, and is totally kiss proof. I wish I would have had it on my wedding day so I didn’t have to carry lipstick around in the bust of my dress and Ian didn’t have to keep wiping his mouth off after every kiss. My beautiful friend…

Pieces with Meaning

Daylight Savings is one of my favorite days of the year. No joke. I don’t even care that we loose an hour of sleep because I am so pumped for a later sunset. One of my favorite things to do every spring / summer day is sit on the back porch and watch the sunset. And if I don’t get to be outside, I open up all the blinds and watch it as I cook and eat dinner. The other day we spent the afternoon in Chattanooga right at golden hour. It was stunning to see the sun set over the water and all the golden light it shed over the art district. With spring approaching, I decided to pull together a lighter look with some white jeans. This chambray top has some of the cutest details and is super flowy so you don’t have to worry about what you eat for dinner. WIN! My necklace was made by my girl Dee at Dee Ruel. You may remember one of her pieces from this look last summer. She is a fabulous…

Spring Fling

Longer days. More sunshine. Full blooms. There is already so much to love about spring, but adding your baby to the mix is about the best thing ever. Experiencing things for the first time with him is so much more fun. Easter was the past weekend, and we had such a great day! Filling Cove’s first Easter basket with little boy goodies was such a treat for me. We dressed him in this adorable outfit my mom picked out for him when I was twenty weeks and the suspenders had me melting. I can’t believe next year he will be hunting for his own Easter eggs. We were able to spend the day with both of our families and grill out. Cove had a great time being the center of attention. It was a beautiful day to celebrate the resurrection and that Jesus defeated sin, death and the grave to save us! Having a son reminded both Ian and I how great the sacrifice was for God to send his son to take on the world’s sin. It’s an overwhelming love.

The Gustavsons Family

Ian had a great time shooting this beautiful family’s spring portraits. Nathan and Megan are expecting their third little bundle of joy in just a few weeks, and Megan is absolutely glowing. Ian and I were so thrilled with how this lifestyle shoot turned out. You can see how much this family adores each other and how they have a great time together.

Sprucing Up For Easter

Easter is one of the best times of the year! Winter starts to fade away, your plants start to bloom, and there are bunnies and lambs in every department store. It brings me so much joy. I don’t decorate too much, but I do love to spruce up the house with some springy accents.   I hope you all have a wonderful week!
